Paha Sapa Press Wishes to Acknowledge the Passing of a Voice All Ears Could Clearly Hear

The family of Dennis Banks says he died Sunday, Oct. 29, 2017, at the age of 80. Banks was a co-founder of AIM and a leader of the Wounded Knee occupation in 1973.

Dennis Banks, a  co-founder, along with Russell Means of the American Indian Movement, served the people with a distinctive nobility and humility, garnering respect from tribes as well as the white population.

The picture depicts his interest in unselfish pursuits, taken before the start of the All Relations Community March Against Racism.
